skyline of St Louis St. Louis is a large riverport city filled with history and sights to see. St. Louis is the largest city in Missouri. The photo at left allows you to see a small section of the city.
St. Louis skyscrapers St. Louis has many many skyscrapers. When you see all the tall buildings you realize you are in a very big city so stick close to your parents and keep safety in mind.
St Louis arch and courthouse The Old St. Louis courthouse was the scene of the Dred Scott trial. If you would like to learn more about Dred Scott's fight for freedom, you can find the information here.
Art Museum The St. Louis Art Museum located in Forest Park was built as the Fine Arts Palace of the 1904 World's Fair. It is one of the country's leading comprehensive art museums.
Botanical Gardens The Missouri Botanical Gardens was founded in 1859 making it the oldes botanical park in the country. It features 79 acres of beautiful gardens and historic structures. This includes the Victorian country home of Henry Shaw, the gardens' founder.
Butterfly House Witness the mystery of metamorphosis at the Butterfly House in Faust Park. There are thousands of butterflies flying freely.
Cathedral Basilica The Old Cathedral or Basilica of St. Louis, King of France is the earliest church in the city. It is 171 years old and a national monument. The museum contains countless religious artifacts.
Grants Farm Grant's Farm is a Busch family estate once owned by Ulysses S. Grant. On a visit here you can view animal shows, visit a petting zoo or ride a tram through the wildlife preserve.
Arch The Gateway Arch Riverfront boasts a 630 foot high arch making it the tallest manmade monument in the nation. Take a tram ride to the top and visit the Museum of Westward Expansion. You can even experience a giant screen movie.
lions of the zoo More than 6,600 animals call the St. Louis Zoo their home. The St. Louis zoo is known all over the world. It now has an Insectarium among it many other features. Of course, this lion doesn't look too interested.
jouster If you visit St. Louis during the Renaissance Fair, you can witness life during Midieval Days.
Josephine Baker At the Black World History Wax Museum view lifelike figures of African-American leaders, scholars and entertainers who had strong roots in Missouri. Life-size exhibits tell the stories of botanist George Washington Carver and the Rev. John Berry Meachum among others.
Scott Joplin House Tour the home of the "King of Ragtime." A National Historic Landmark, the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site, is a four-story antebellum structure that was home to Joplin between 1900-1903, during some of his most productive years. Hear some of the famous rags by pumping a foot-powered player piano.
  Of course, this is just a taste of what is available to see and do in St. Louis. Among others you might want to visit the Campbell House Museum, the City Museum, the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, the Holocaust Museum & Learning Center, Jefferson Barracks Historic Park, The Magic House or the Mastodon State Historic Site.
