Sequoita park

The territory known as Missouri was included in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. Soon after, the Delaware received treaty land where Springfield's Sequoita Park and the antique stores of its Galloway Village stand today. To the west, 500 Kickapoo built their wikiups on the prairie that still bears their name. Further west, a man named Wilson lent his name to a creek that would run red during the Civil War

Animal Paradise You can drive through the Exotic Animal Paradise and see wild animals and rare birds up close and roaming free.
Wilson Creek With civil war imminent, Springfield was divided in its sentiments. On August 19, 1861, army units of the North and South fought the first major battle west of the Mississippi River near Wilson's Creek. The Confederates were victorious. However, the battle led to increased fighting in Missouri.
Ozark Empire Fair The Ozark Empire Fair held each year provides fun and excitement for all those who attend.
Outdoor World Bass Pro's Outdoor World is a site that every new visitor to Springfield must see. It has a waterfall, large fireplace, and many displays well worth taking the time to see.

  You might also want to take time to visit Crystal Cave or Fantastic Cavern. The Discovery Center and Dickerson Zoo plus the Wonders of Wildlife Zooquarium are other adventures worth pursuing.
